The opening ceremony of the Japanese Language Center and the oral presentation competition in Japanese
On the 25th of August, 2013, the opening ceremony of the Japanese language center and the first Japanese language courses officially took place at Ba Ria – Vung Tau Teacher Training College (TTC). The Oral Presentation Competition in Japanese on “The Traditional Cultural Values of Vietnam and Japan” was then organized at the lecture theater of the school
The event was attended by Mr. Ho Van Nien and Mr. Le Thanh Dung, Vice Presidents of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Vo Ngoc Minh, Chief of Propaganda and Instruction Section; leaders of various departments, sections, and institutions in and out of the province; the school staff of Ba Ria – Vung Tau TTC and more than 300 students of the Japanese language center. In addition, 15 enterprises from Kawasaki, Japan led by Mr. Shimojo Takeo also presented themselves at the event. The ceremony also welcomed Mr. Ngo Tung Lam, Vice President of Vietnamese People in Japan and some representatives from Ba Ria – Vung Tau-based enterprises.
There were 6 main teams taking part in the Japanese Oral Presentation Competition. Out of these 6 teams, 2 are from Nhat Van University. The rest are in turn from Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu University, Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu Vocational College, Hong Bang International University and Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu TTC. Some other visiting teams from high schools such as Chau Thanh High school, Nguyen Hue High School and Phu My High school also joined the competition. The competition gave opportunities for students to have better understanding of the Japanese people and culture, the friendly relations and cultural communication between Vietnam and Japan. The competition at the same time encouraged students to learn Japanese, share with each other their learning experience and develop their oral presentation skills.
The 3 team prizes were granted to Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu TTC (first prize), Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu University (first runner-up) and Hong Bang International University (second runner-up).
The events were in a chain of activities in commemoration of the 40-year friendly relations between Vietnam and Japan in Ba Ria – Vung Tau. The activities were highly appreciated by the delegates and gave a deep impression on its attendants.
