The conference on Vietnamese and Japanese education and training

The 24th of August, 2013 marked the taking place of a conference on Vietnamese and Japanese Education and Training, which was specialized in three academic fields of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at the Provincial Convention Center

The conference was one of the activities in commemoration of the 40-year friendly relations between Vietnam and Japan in Ba Ria Vung Tau, and Ba Ria Vung Tau Teacher Training College (TTC) was granted the permission to organize this very event.

The conference welcomed the presence of different levels of educational leaders, specialists from Ba Ria-Vung Tau Office and Department of Education and Training, a large number of junior and senior high school teachers as well as lecturers from Ba Ria-Vung Tau TTC. The conference was also attended by Mr. Le Thanh Dung, the Vice President of Ba Ria-Vung Tau People’s Committee and it was him who delivered the opening and guiding speech. The lead-in speech was then made by Mr. Ho Canh Hanh, the Rector of Ba Ria Vung Tau TTC.

The conference gave opportunities for the attendants to exchange and share with each other their management and teaching experience, both in Vietnam and Japan.  Out of the 11 presentations made, 3 were of Dr. Kunioka Takahino, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Inomoto Osamu, and Prof. Dr. Fukuda Mitshuhino from Hyogo University of Teacher Education. Given the teaching and learning practice in secondary schools, 3 presentations focused on the content, curriculum and teaching methods of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, others 3 on using information technology in teaching, 2 on the correlation between knowledge learnt at colleges or universities and knowledge learnt at secondary schools. The rest three presentations discussed the fostering of gifted and excellent students, the strategies of evoking students’ learning motivation and the use of laboratory apparatus at high schools.

The conference attracted the attention of more than 1000 educational leaders and teachers and facilitated the discussion and clarification of a large number of related issues.

The conference was highly appreciated by the delegates and gave a deep impression on its attendants.
